I was one of the lucky ones. I had a wonderful upbringing. My parents were a loving couple that lived their values and passed them onto my brother and two sisters. We lived on a dead end street for most of our childhood, that had 23 others kids living on it as well. Needless to say, we had a blast.
Then you know, shit happened. A rape, two divorces, a child custody case that I lost, a tick bite that had me wheelchair bound...you know the usual stuff. It kind of knocked my center of gravity out from underneath me. But I just kept moving on, because that was what we did.
I dove head first into my career, which was robust, taking me all over the country (USA) and parts of Europe. I was hooked on movement, travel, people, culture. My career helped me to compile some very special traits which afforded me looking at the world through the lens of different kind of lens. I saw abundance and opportunity.
People that I worked for encouraged my growth. Providing for further schooling in human behaviors, emotional intelligence, protocol, women’s studies. What I did not realize at the time is that these degrees and certifications laid the groundwork for an intertwined view of the inside workings of who we are as humans and how we either achieve or don’t.
I left the corporate world and went out on my own, three weeks before my fortieth birthday. A big hairy scary goal. This move to becoming an entrepreneur led me to serve dignitaries, political officers, authors, actors and other amazing prominent persons. I blossomed and married my soul mate, a Pole. I had done some deep inner work on myself. Letting go of old stories that no longer served me. Releasing the negative self-talk. Realizing that the universe really did have my back.
My clients were and still are pretty incredible people. I continue to work on myself and my self-worth. Through the urging of my coaches and mentors, I began sharing my cumulative background of experiences and schooling with women guiding them through the multitude of transitions that we go experience. That began over 25 years ago and I haven’t stopped. I hope you'll join along on the journey. Midlife and beyond with a life well lived.
