Making the decision to move abroad for me was not something that I took lightly. With family and grand children it was something that took time and that I had to feel my way through. There is a great quote that reflects the way I look at travel, "travel far enough to meet yourself." Travel has placed in circumstances and situations that I never would have been otherwise. Travel taught me to take my hands off the wheel and just allow. That has been my biggest lesson so far and the one that made all the difference. Enjoy!
Hail the FFT! I use this term practically every day. After moving to Poland almost nine years ago I still find use for this term. I find living in a foreign country exhillarating and frustrating but I wouldn't change it for the world. I actually think I am a nicer person after having moved abroad. Keep going...is only gets sweeter! By the way...what part of Portugal are you calling home?
Spoken from a woman with experience! Living outside the US puts us in many interesting situations. This was a big AHA moment for me, sounds like for you as well. Thanks for your comment.
I adore Poland. I moved to Lodz four years ago and love it! My husband and I travel extensively throughout the country so I loved reading your post. Poland has so much to offer. I have had the time of my life getting to know the people, the culture and the food. It's a must for any traveller!
Absolutely! There are opportunities everywhere!
Thanks! I have had other people tell me that getting sick in a foreign country is one of the reasons why they never leave the US. Hmmm....in the EU anyway, everything is regulated and totally up to date.
Seriously!!! That is awesome. Thank you! It's so true, what I wrote. He had a goal and just did it. It sounds so easy to do...but the reality is something totally different.
